Family Party Games for Thanksgiving

Though it’s still warm out here in New England, the holiday season is quickly approaching! Thanksgiving is a time for families to gather and have fun together – and what better way to have fun than with Gamewright games?? This week I thought I’d share some of my favorite picks for party games that the whole family will enjoy.

Joe Name It
This is one of our latest and greatest from our new Port-a-Party line. Can you name a movie with 2 sequels? How about a music group with 3 members? Test your numbers know-all in this fast-playing “name it to claim it” party game. Draw a category card and then fill in the blank with the number you rolled. Be the first person to name something that fits and you’re smarter than the average Joe!

Who Would Win
Another new Port-a-Party game this year, Who Would Win is sure to spark some debate, and lots of laughs! Who would win a hot dog eating contest: Donald Trump or Albert Einstein? Settle this and other timeless debates in this hilarious party game of improbable celebrity matchups. Draw cards and then convince the judge why your character would win a randomly chosen event. Get the most votes and there’s no debate who wins the game!

Toss Your Cookies
Hungry for fun? Look no further than this outrageously delicious game of quick cookie collecting. Try to gather five of the same cookie by following the dice actions: Pass cookie cards to your neighbor, swap them with an opponent, or steal the milk card. Watch out for half-eaten cookies that will spoil your set. And if you roll “Toss All,” get ready for an all-out cookie flinging frenzy! Be the first to get five of a kind plus the milk and you’re one fortunate cookie.

Sounds Like a Plan
What’s the best plan for climbing Mt. Everest? How about the worst plan for making a million bucks? Find out in this party game that’s all about giving outrageous advice! Select a card containing a piece of advice that best fits the judge’s chosen activity. Score points if the judge takes your advice, but keep in mind that plans change with the roll of a die… You might have to give out bad advice, your grandma’s advice, or even advice from a psychic! Take our advice and play at Thanksgiving this year!

Hit or Miss
Sharpen your pencils – and your intuition – for this quick playing “think-in-sync” party game. Draw a category card and in 45 seconds, list as many related words that come to mind. When the timer runs out, roll the die – if it lands on HIT, pick a word that you think everyone wrote; if it lands on MISS, pick one that only you wrote. Choose wisely and score big points. The player with the highest score wins. Hit or Miss – the can’t MISS game that will turn your Thanksgiving party into a HIT!

Let us know – does your family like to play games for Thanksgiving? What are your favorites?
